THE MOST prized awards in the Central Scotland business calendar are back! Entries for The Falkirk Herald Business Awards 2010 are now open. Closing date for entries is February 19th 2010 Once again The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is main sponsor for the highly-contested event. Forth Valley College is a strategic partner, while Central FM is an associate sponsor. This is the third occasion Scotland’s premier bank has teamed up with the country’s top weekly newspaper to highlight and recognise the important role of businesses and entrepreneurs in Falkirk and the surrounding area. Richard Bell, managing director of Johnston (Falkirk) Ltd, publishers of The Falkirk Herald, said: “Once again we are delighted to be organising these awards which, in just a short time, have become such an important part of the business calendar." “The current economic situation has proved challenging for many businesses which makes it all the more important to acknowledge those who are doing well and celebrate their achievements.” Brian Murphy, RBS's director of business and commercial banking for Central Scotland, said: “RBS is very proud of its sponsorship of these awards again this year. I am a great believer in taking the time to reflect upon exceptional business performance and to reward that success. As such, I am looking forward to being actively involved in this awards programme over the coming weeks and learning about the achievements of businesses in the area.” Last year’s Outstanding Achievement winners were Barrie and Scott Henderson of Xtreme Karting in Larbert, who also picked up the Best Small Business title.
